Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 10:53 AMThe images are nice but not very interesting. I love pictures with lots of personality. GO WILD with it :-). -

Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 11:00 AMI agree with Shaun's comment. They are too tame. If I'm to pick an image, it has to come out of the lot and make me notice it. Either through the actual scenery, or the action depicted, or the attitude of the model.
Your photos, while being "nice" lack a little something of the above to make them stand out.
You need to want to express something... not just do a cold rendering of a scene.

Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 12:26 PMMost of the male nudes that strike me are close-ups that explore contour and texture. Some naked man, standing in a field, is not particularly provocative or erotic. -

Wed, May 23, 2007 - 1:35 PMI See your point , I alway have been trying to avoid the naked man in field l.ook that I see a lot of. And at the same time keeping the sexuly and porn out of the image. -

Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 2:47 PMIf a close up is artistically shot and processed it is not porn....in my mind. If it triggers thoughts other than sexual thoughts then for me it is not porn…
For me fine art photography has to have a lot of "WoW" factor.
I'm missing the "WoW' here. You have a good body and the photos are good snap shots but in my mind they are not "Fine Art".....
For me they are lacking motivation and due this I have not interest.....you should try to pull people in so that they want to see more.
Keep working on it....do not give up or become discouraged.

Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 3:59 PMFor example, take the classic photo (in sepia tones) of a woman's buttock in the sun, beaded with sweat (water sprayed on oil). You don't need to see more than that; it's erotic just like that.

Re: I can use some help
Wed, May 23, 2007 - 9:09 PMI agree with the comments.
If you use a higher resolution film, you could cut and crop the picture/making them a bit more abstract.
Zoom lenses would allow you to pinpoint areas of interest, shadow/texture/lighting
in the photo so you won't need to crop them.
Try using black and white film to see the different shades captured in the lighting of your body and the outside elements.
Good Luck!

Sat, June 9, 2007 - 1:31 PMI like these alot. He's beautiful. I see the textures of various objects used in the photos, and you have a good sense of composition. -

Re: I can use some help
Thu, June 14, 2007 - 8:19 PMI think all these comments are good and positive which ultimately is so much more helpful. To me the biggest thing that's missing is interesting lighting, provocative lighting, compelling lighting.

Re: I can use some help
Sun, June 17, 2007 - 7:27 PMI would try harder to capture the light as it hits the surfaces in an image. Whether it's caressing a curve or glancing off of a sharp angle, the light and shadows will make the photo much more compelling. Otherwise, I am thrilled to see someone photographing male nudes, I agree, a much overlooked subject.
