I'd try joining up with a local bdsm / shibari group, see if you can photograph
for them, work up a bit of a portfolio. IMHO/AFAIK, very few models will do
this kind of work in trade, except with a photographer who has an existing
portfolio that they like.

Also, a bit of versatility (not just bondage) would go a long way to making
for an attractive portfolio.

Slap a semi opaque copyright right in the middle of the image if you don't want it copied. Model Mayhem is a great site, but also an overlooked site is craigslist for posting model needs. Flickr also has some great groups, but to find models you usually need to be near a major metro area. Alt.com might be another site to try.

If you are able to offer even a small stipend, you will DRASTICALLY reduce the number of flakes... and probably double the response (though I know it isn't possible to double zero).

Be open to photographing older folks - there's a huge 40+ contingent of BDSM people. If you're looking to do bondage TFP, your are much less likely to attract people that "look" like models.
